Almost every Company or Brand out there nowadays is (or at least should be) on Social Media. However, as Facebook was the 1st of its kind in this median, there are a number of companies that have simply “stuck-to-it” and choose to not advertise anywhere else. Whilst this may not necessarily be correct in most cases, it is however the norm (especially amongst businesses that were founded many a year ago and are struggling with aligning themselves to the digital evolution) for some and it is consequently crucial that they promote their page sufficiently, considering it being their only social advertising platform.

Each and every page (literally) can grow in different ways, fashion and speed and off course knowing your audience is a key part to being able to adequately advertise yourself, products or services. Nonetheless, there are certain strategies we can all follow to a generic extent in order to improve our visibility, awareness and ultimately sales. Let’s have a look at 3 very simple and basic strategies that you can all use to better your Facebook Business page.

1. Install Facebook Pixel to Track Website Traffic

As most businesses, it is only natural that you have a website to promote your products or services or perhaps to even get direct sales. However, having a website alone is not enough. It is crucial to analyse your audience, where they come from and so forth. It is hence imperative that the Facebook Pixel is at this point inserted into the code of your website so as to be able to track your visitors. The pixel is effectively a piece of code that “lives” on your website and tracks all traffic coming to it. So if for example one searches your company name in Google, finds your website and clicks to go to it, then the Facebook Pixel will track this action and allow you to target this user in the future.  

2. Target your Email List

Not many people are aware of this, and it is true that it is not available on all pages. A lot of companies or brands out there have an email list of their clients whether that may be through orders, newsletter or other means. Facebook now allows you to upload these contacts (no more than 2000 a day) and target those people with an Ad or Promotion. This is another great way to target your audience as these are individuals that have already demonstrated an affinity to your brand (Already being your customers or on your newsletter list) so they are effectively active leads you can make use of.

3. Target by Interests

Last (And possibly most well known) is to target your audience according to its interests. Every user on Facebook has interests such a different kinds of bands, sports teams, music or companies. So, you can create ads targeting all of these different interests obviously according to your product or service. So you could effectively narrow it down to even people who have liked your direct competitors so as to attract new customers. Always however be aware that Facebook is a bid-to-bid system and hence your budget needs to be adequate. 

Conclusively, there are many different ways in which you can promote your business page on Facebook but I personally believe the above to be the most effective. Obviously, always target new audiences but also your current existing Facebook fans. In addition, as you will have now added the Facebook Pixel on your website, I would also advise to target your existing customers via monitoring your website traffic.
