10 Things I learnt from my Internship

When I first started at CFM Group 5 months ago, I was a different person. The work I’ve done, the people I’ve met, and the opportunities I’ve been given have shaped the way I think about myself and my future career. That is why I wanted to share 10 things that I have learnt from my internship. Although some lessons speak to the unique culture of digital marketing, I think there are valuable tips that any intern can follow. 1) Be yourself We all have our little quirks, and it’s what makes work fun. Of course at the start I was very nervous and conscious of making the right impression. However as time went on I finally relaxed, and my work became more creative, my relationship with clients become more relaxed and the marketing campaigns became more successful. 2) Pay attention to detail It doesn’t take long for anyone senior…

Diary of an Intern – My 1st Week

As I headed to the train station in Cambridge and on my way for my 1st day of helping at CFM Group as a Social Media and Digital Marketing intern, I was feeling just about every feeling there is to feel. Can Apprenticeships help SME’s?

If you are an employer or an owner of a brand new start up or SME, you have probably considered the pros and cons of employing an apprentice to assist you in your business. This is something you are not alone in, as there are 1000s of companies across the UK, from retail giants such as ASDA and Boots to small independent bakers that have taken on apprentices and seen the real benefits that they can provide. As an active and proud member of the Anglia Ruskin University Graduate Alumni, I work closely with Apprentice for at least 1 month a year. It was initially conceived as a way of giving back to the university that assisted me – partly – in getting where I am and I also concluded that there were many benefits after the first attempt. I may now employ a number of staff in Greece, Cyprus and Cambridge,…

Our CEO’s Speech at Anglia Ruskin University

As a proud member of the Anglia Ruskin University Alumni, CFM Group’s CEO, Mr Nicholas Kalavas was invited to speak to Business and Marketing students (both undergraduates and postgraduates) about his career and success so far and why he chose Marketing. Upon graduating all former students, regardless of what they were called when they were at Anglia Ruskin University, become alumni and are automatically members of the alumni network. Today there are over 100,000 alumni in 165 countries, including BBC presenters Nick Crane and Ben Garrod, NSPCC Chairman Mark Wood and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd as well as Nicholas Kalavas of CFM Group. Mr Kalavas’ speech focused mainly on the difficulties students will experience throughout their academic years and the path to founding a marketing company.
