HOW TO CONVERT YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS INTO PAYING CUSTOMERS

It’s a fact that social media marketing is important in promoting business, especially in today’s business clime. By the end of 2016, 2.8 billion persons were already using social media, an increase of 21% from 2015.

Further statistics reveal that 71% of consumers who have had a good experience with a brand on social media are likely to recommend it to a friend with 95% of adults aged 18-34 likely to follow their brands on social media.

Posting quality content on social media and engaging with your followers in high-quality content is great but it would be much better if you can convert these followers into paying customers.

Below are some tips you should follow to help you maximize your returns with social media.

  1. USE DESIGNATED LANDING PAGES

It’s common to find clicks on Google Adwords or Facebook ad leading to a brands home page instead of designated landing pages for a campaign. This is not very effective marketing.

Your home page is important in creating a good first impression and explaining your services- but it’s not always where you want visitors to land.

It’s much easier to communicate with someone once you already have their email address so acquiring it should be the first priority. So instead of linking to your home page on your Instagram and Twitter bios, link visitors to a landing page which offers a valuable lead magnet in exchange for their contact information. This creates an avenue to monetize your social media handles.

  1. OFFER SPECIAL DEALS

Nothing drives sales like a special deal or discount of some sort and in today’s digital business environment they are even more effective.

With discounts, you give your customers a chance to acquire something for less than the current market price.

If you provide the offer for a limited time, then the power of scarcity is leveraged, and this encourages people to act immediately instead of procrastinating. Providing deals also helps build a sense of community around your brand, and encourage your customers to engage with the posts you share.

  1. HOST A CONTEST

Reposting user-generated content on your social media accounts is a powerful way to build rapport with your followers, and one of the ways to solicit cool user-generated content is by hosting a contest around your content. You could encourage your followers to take a photo with your photo and upload it with a special hashtag for the contest.

Even though you might have only one winner eventually, everyone who has their content reposted will form a stronger bond with your brand, and this will most likely convert them into paying customers.
