Twitter Moments have been around for over a year now but they were limited in use to only Twitter big shots and a handful of Twitter partners.Recently, Twitter has made this feature available to everyone, which means you can use this great feature to get the word out about your business!

There are a few guidelines to keep in mind though, so let’s dive deeper and take a look at the best ways to use Twitter Moments.

Understanding the basics
Using the new feature is very easy and intuitive. You will now see a Moments tab on top of your Twitter page and after clicking that you see you have the option to ‘Create a New Moment.’ Once you click this you will see all sorts of options that are very self explanatory. You can add a title, description, cover image, and you can link other tweets to the Moment.

Making the most of the new feature
These Twitter Moments can be a great vessel for getting the word out about your products or services, as you can really share a lot more information than you ever could in a regular tweet. The best way to utilize this feature is to be very specific. These are called Moments and a single moment is a pretty specific thing. If you post very general Moments about your business you are going to have a hard time getting potential customers to really engage. These moments should some how benefit your followers, try giving helpful advice or focus on how your product or service will benefit them.

Remember the limited attention span of your followers
Twitter Moments do allow you to expand your message but don’t forget that Internet users have a very short attention span. Be as concise as you can and get your message across clearly and quickly. Take advantage of the cover images to make it easier for your followers to quickly engage in the content. Twitter Moments also allow you to append tweets that are related to the moment. This is great, but don’t get carried away. If you have a really long list of related tweets users are going to get bored and leave the page. It is also important to remember the basics, always include a very strong call to action.

A new feature you can really use
New features on social media platforms are coming out all the time and as a business you should make sure your marketing plan is taking full advantage. Twitter Moments can be a great way to spread your message just as long as you keep these basic principles in mind.
