It seems like every time there is a news update nowadays, Facebook is involved. Here at CFM Group, we understanding that it can be quite tricky following the latest trends and constantly being updated. We have hence chosen to create a brief post on the latest Trends we have noticed making an impact on Facebook.

We have already noticed many big brands and companies making use of these trends to reach new audiences and set themselves apart from the crowd. So here are our Top 3 Facebook trends we strongly would advise to make use of in your company’s next  social media strategy:

Facebook Live

Facebook Live is available currently but only for verified Public Figures and verified Brand Pages using Mentions.

Many may argue that this is now outdated as Instagram has offered the feature for a while. Nonetheless, Instagram does not offer the option to leave your Video on your “Wall” or Page as such whereas that option is available on Facebook. Even after a Live video ends, the content lives on, helping you reach even more people.

Global Web Index found in 2016 that 20% of Facebook users have watched at least 1 live video the past month. What is more, Facebook considers Live Videos as a totally different entity to normal videos and hence allows them to rank higher in the news feed (whilst they are live) in order to attract more engagement.

Add Apps on Pages

Are you a restaurant or perhaps a cafe? Do you have a physical location or only sell online? The days when every Facebook Page looked the same are long gone. With ready-made templates and a wide selection of categories, you now have the option to customise many components of your Page.

Adding your website, Instagram account and Twitter are features that were always possible..but did you know you can now also add your Services in full detail, Pricing, a Shopify or Menu tab to your page? Or even a Order Online feature?

Make use of these tabs and new features to not only attract more users to your page but also make sure to keep them interested in your page for as long as possible. The longer a customer remains on your page or website, the more are the chances of him or her acquiring your product or service

Paid Advertising

According to a survey of content marketers from the Content Marketing Institute, 61% used promoted posts as a paid advertising method, up 14 percentage points from the previous year. In addition, the marketers found that promoted posts were 76% effective and social ads were 74% effective.

It sounds like the easy option to simply advice Brands and Companies to spend more on advertising. So we will take it a step further and advise 2 things

A. Spend your budget smarter. Carefully target your audience and make sure you have professionally curated your content and the landing page where you are driving your clients too.

B. Spend more of your promotional budget on mobile advertising. Mobile usage is now becoming a prevalent feature (Especially amongst the younger audience) so -always depending on your target audience – focusing on attracting this key demographic spectrum of society could have a large impact on your product or service.

With over 55 million SME’s on Facebook with their own Pages it’s vital to keep track of trends that will help ones business stand out from the crowd. Not all trends are equal and from experimentation and analytics, you’ll be able to find the ones that are best for you.
