How to makes Ads less Ad Like”

I am not entirely certain why (or how) but I have ended up strangely reading more than 60 articles on Facebook this week which is more than 70% of my total article consumption. This was not a conscious choice as I went about reading my daily marketing news, technology and Social media updates but is a clear demonstration of how prevalent the platform has nowadays become in our everyday lives, hence also polarising interest in Digital Marketing circles online. I often come across Ads on my Social Media that genuinely are way too “adversarial” to have the desired effect. Maintaining a positive relationships between your audience and ads is crucial nowadays but equally quite difficult to achieve without the necessary knowledge and skills. Sponsored content on media sites and Ads on Social Platforms such as Facebook or Instagram,  are becoming more pervasive and increasingly harder to spot. While there has…

The days were reaching or typing the wrong page used to present you with a problem or a blank page are long gone. The public nowadays demands quality and a lot more from websites and hence as user experience is almost a target for perfection, designers nowadays (including ourselves, have a look at our 404 page for our client Salathong here) are able to customise the 404 pages of your websites. There are a number of reasons why you should do this and as it is a reasonably easy task that does not necessarily require frequent amendments or management, it may be a good practice to implement in your company website or even your future developments if you are a web designer. Let’s have a look at the 4 most important ones: Make it memorable It is either that there is a blip on your website or the user has…

Can Apprenticeships help SME’s?

If you are an employer or an owner of a brand new start up or SME, you have probably considered the pros and cons of employing an apprentice to assist you in your business. This is something you are not alone in, as there are 1000s of companies across the UK, from retail giants such as ASDA and Boots to small independent bakers that have taken on apprentices and seen the real benefits that they can provide. As an active and proud member of the Anglia Ruskin University Graduate Alumni, I work closely with Apprentice for at least 1 month a year. It was initially conceived as a way of giving back to the university that assisted me – partly – in getting where I am and I also concluded that there were many benefits after the first attempt. I may now employ a number of staff in Greece, Cyprus and Cambridge,…

Snapchat “Ad Manager” now Available

Snapchat, as announced a few months ago, has officially launched its self-service ad-buying system, which was originally rolled out with 20 brands, including smaller players like online sneaker seller Goat, social app Mammoth Media and gift retailer Hollar. Called Snapchat Ad Manager, it is now available to all Business users in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Australia and other countries for companies of all sizes, marking a significant update for a company and platform that so far only used to allow big brands to make use of its vast pool of users. Marketers of all stripes can buy the app’s vertical video ads, called Snap Ads, with an aim to drive app installs, garner branded long-form video views or prompt e-commerce click-throughs (swipe ups, in Snapchat lingo)to their website or ordering systems. Twitter AGM revealing new Updates

It was an exciting day for some of us on the 22nd of May but mostly for Twitter employees and senior staff. The Twitter 2017 Shareholders meeting was held and there were a number of exciting subjects on the agenda to be discussed. From turning the social network into a cooperative owned by its users to the potential of increasing video views on the platform, subjects varied and Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey was amongst others providing useful insight into the future of Twitter. The truth is, the majority of the information disseminated was not necessarily a breakthrough or that innovative as such as the Board still had to cover a number of “bases” that are potentially uninteresting to marketers and the general public. Nonetheless, one very interesting detail regarding videos emerged which could potentially be of great interest to most of us. In a specific part of his presentation on the platform’s…

Social Media is practically everywhere nowadays and has been a major player in the changes we have seen in the digital environment  that surrounds us. Not only has it given a voice (some also add confidence to the list) to billions of online users but also created significant opportunities that businesses can potentially exploit in their interest. It not only allows SMEs, Brands and Companies to communicate with their customer base but also market directly to them. All the information is now available (or almost all) out there so its up to companies to analyse the huge amounts of data generated daily by their customers in real-time. Every day 1.8 billion people log onto Facebook whilst there are also over 1.8 billion Likes.  What is more ,there are over 550 million tweets posted on a daily basis and Instagram has now grown to over 300 million daily users. It is hence perhaps more…

6 Tips to Improve your Facebook Page

Nowadays, the use of Social is really inevitable for any business or Brand out there. Whether you are a local or international company, the majority of your audience is already on Facebook so knowing how to target them can be crucial to your company’s success. Nonetheless, every company is now making use of Social media, so how can you present yourself better in order to attract more engagement and leads? For most of us that advertise on Facebook, Edgerank is a term we are referring to quite often. It is the cryptic Facebook algorithm that decided which posts appear (or do not appear) on your news feed. Increase ones Edgerank will effectively assist in increasing ones Facebook page visibility and hence it is crucial to get a clear comprehension of what it entails and how it works. Here’s a good graphic that breaks it down: But what does all this…
