Whether you are self-employed or work for a company, one of the most crucial aspects of business is your personal branding. If you are seeking to be successful, it is vital to understand how to effectively and accurately promote yourself and your ‘brand.’ Launching your own brand is always exciting, but at the same time, it can equally be very challenging.

Here at CFM Group we have helped create and grow a number of brands such as Salathong, Ginos Dial A Pizza and Perfect Pizza. So let’s have a look at some of the elements we found very useful and effective that will assist you in organising the multifaceted issues you will face when seeking the “Road to Self Stardom”.

  • Be yourself, be authentic

Your brand is the externalization of your actual identity and people will see that. Pretending or copying others will not serve your purpose as it is vital to convey the real “You”. Furthermore, this will also help you in maintaining the stability of your image. Too many are doing the same currently out there so make sure your content and strategy are unique.

  • Be knowledgeable and active on social media

Everything nowadays is going digital, so the future is online. If you are new to social media, you need to educate yourself on it! Start by setting up your basic social accounts on  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. Follow relevant accounts on all platforms and post engaging, interesting and informative content regularly.

  • Image Consistency

The brands that stand the test of time are the ones that are consistent, not the ones that are perfect. You’d better share and keep uploading content on a very consistent basis instead of spending too much time over details. Make sure your images and content represents you in the best possible way and share it across all platforms.

  • High quality Content

Nowadays, it is hard to stand out let alone in the digital world where content has a very short life span if not promoted and written correctly. Therefore, to promote your personal brand, you need to post frequently but most importantly make sure your content is engaging, interesting, unique and of high quality. Quality after all is and will remain “King” in terms of the digital world so be knowledgeable and useful in your posts.

  • Develop a Value proposition

Every major company or brand has their own value proposition and you should off course have one too. What makes you, as a person, attractive to potential customers or clients, what should they know that will “pull” them to your expertise? What is it that makes you special? Why should a company or other brand work with you and what will they gain? Once you have this established, make sure your audience knows what it is and don’t be afraid to create specific, unique hashtags for it.

  • Enhance and manage your repute

The impact of your reputation is colossal for the success of  your organization. Thus, building and ensuring your image is absolutely imperative! Try to keep it stable and coherent whilst at the same time working and networking digitally and physically with local organisations and brands in your sector of expertise.

Summarising, other than the personal gratification of being recognised for your expertise, it is also important to give back to your audience and community as it can significantly help you build your personal brand. Whether it’s volunteering your time to a cause that’s important to your heart or  donating money to a non-profit organisation or charity, will help you attract positive reaction and attention from your peers and local audience.

Be focused and consistent with your brand and make sure it represents the real you, in real time and never forget to engage, respond and like your followers comments.
