Twitter is a powerful tool for any company or brand’s professional arsenal, and when properly utilized, it can help your business standout from a sea of competitors. However, you can only achieve this when you are doing something different from everyone else.
There are a lot of things you don’t see from the default user functionalities of Twitter. To see what’s happening, you need access to hard data- information on your older messages, your highest performing tweets ever sent and how well your content is engaging your audience.
Luckily, Twitter has you covered.
To help you attain the heights required to stand out from the competition, here are six Twitter tools you have probably never used before, and which will provide significant benefit.
- FIND YOUR OLD TWEETS
Maybe you are feeling nostalgic or you just want to access some old information on your Twitter timeline. Regardless of reason, you may get stuck at some point as Twitter only shows your last 3,200 Tweets and if you have been using the application for even over a decade, it is likely you would have crossed that threshold.
Luckily, with advanced search operators, you can hunt down your old messages. This can be done using Twitter’s advanced search operators which can help you filter results by date.
For example, the command- from: [your Twitter @handle] since: 2009-06-12 until: 2009-07-12 will uncover all your tweets within this time period.
- GET YOUR STATS FOR ANY TWEET
While viewing your tweets will furnish you with basic stats like the number of tweets, comments, likes and retweets, you may feel like digging a little deeper to get more valuable metrics.
You can do this with the Tweet Activity view, and by just clicking on the bar graph icon, you will be presented with a wealth of information.
This provides you with data about the number of impressions and total engagements, as well as a breakdown of their various interactions.
This provides you with valuable information on how your tweets performed and gives you valuable insight on how to increase your engagement in the future.
- PROMOTE YOUR TWEET TO INCREASE EXPOSURE
There is a section of your Twitter stats results which enables you to promote your tweet. This Twitter service allows you increase your impressions and get your tweets to much more users.
If you press the “Promote your Tweet” button, you will be presented with a panel which allows you select a target location, select a spending budget and an estimated reach if you decide to go ahead with it.
Also, you might do well to select your top performing posts as Twitter’s algorithm favours posts with more engaging content, allowing you promote it for cheaper.
To find your top performing tweets, go to the Analytics section, select the ‘Tweets’ tab and click the ‘Top Tweets’ option.
- GAIN SUPER VALUABLE INSIGHTS ABOUT YOUR AUDIENCE
Knowing enough about your audience is another way to stay ahead of the pack, and there’s a feature in the analytics section which allows you view demographic information about the people viewing your tweets and their respective interests.
By gaining a deeper understanding of your audience’s interest, you can fashion your content to speak to these areas. This will help you avoid getting stuck in a restrictive niche while allowing you cover topics your audience is interested in.
- DOWNLOAD ALL THE DATA
If you want to do your analysis offline, you can download all the data which comes in a full Twitter format that makes research a breeze.
You can also use this to figure out what’s working and what isn’t and while in the Analytics section, move over to the Tweets tab and click ‘Export Data’ button located at the upper right-hand side.
6. SCHEDULE TWEETS
Scheduling tweets will not only allow you to present a consistent page but you will also be able to build engagement and present a more unified profile for your fans and followers. What is more it will save you ..well..loads of time.
